Duke's Place has its own Riding Stables on site and caters for all ages and all stages. The Riding School operates every day (except Christmas Day) and Ursula, who runs the school will be happy to fix you up with a ride, whatever your standard. Perhaps now is the time to fulfil that childhood dream?

There are numerous Golf Courses in the area, including Knaresborough Golf Club and Ripon Golf Club, both private and "pay & play", and as we are keen golfers ourselves, we are only to happy to assist you. If you haven't packed your clubs we can rustle up some for you and if you require a golfing partner, we can usually help with that as well.

Fishing is available in the Ripon and Knaresborough areas which we will be only to happy to enquire about for you. A fun excursion is up to the Trout Ponds below Kilnsey Crag, near Grassington - a successful catch can then be barbequed in the evening back at Duke's Place.

There are excellent Swimming Pools in Knaresborough, Ripon and Harrogate.

We are in a prime location for Horse Race lovers - Ripon, York, Thirsk and Wetherby racecourses are within easy access of Duke's Place.

We are located very close to the Nidderdale Way - the route takes you through beautiful and contrasting countryside - from the spectacular uplands around Scar House Reservoir at the head of Nidderdale, to more gentle rolling pasture and river valleys along the course of the River Nidd. There are some quite challenging climbs along the route but they are rewarded by spectacular glimpses of Nidderdale. Don't miss the breathtaking view from the Middlesmoor Church!

There are also lots of excellent walking opportunities on our doorstep in Nidderdale or the Yorkshire Dales.
